'Debbie and Max's Travels'
Hoover Dam
On the way to the Flagstaff we stopped off at the Hoover Dam - which by the way is named after President Hoover (we were right Heather), although don't get confused thats not the same Hoover that ran the FBI (Max)!
Well it was certainly big, we got a little tour around the turbines and things - quite a feat. We parked on one side and walked over to the visitors centre on the other side, which was excruciating due to the obscene heat! 100 and something faranheit.
Sedona
We went here before the Grand Canyon - had some really pretty red rock formations (see pics when I put them up)
Grand Canyon
We got to the south rim of the canyon about 4o'c so it wans't as hot. It was a spectacular thing to see. The Canyon stretched for miles width wise, you could see the north rim on the horizon. We didn't really have time to walk any trails but we did walk along some of the rim, getting the free bus along parts.
Some people trek down into the canyon and camp at the bottom it takes a day to get down there. The trails get quite thin in places and very steep - looks far to scarey to me.
We would have got to see the sunset except there was quite a lot of cloud cover. The Canyon isn't flat at the bottom, like I'd imagined it but covered in lots of rock formations. The layers of rock in the canyon give it a lot of different colours and makes it look like it wouldn't be out of place in Australia next to Kinmgs Canyon
