Sorry about the delay folks - we've been without internet for days. Anyway, our trip from Madrid to Tui was epic. Started the morning early and made our way to the Peugot car leasing depot. Brand new beautiful station wagon with leather interior and sunroof and amazingly we managed to squeeze all our luggage in. Getting out of Madrid was a challenge but we got there and on the road to Tui. Great highway, diverse countryside ranging from rocky, dry mountains outside Madrid to dry open plains for hours, passing by lots of Spanish castles and villages (all with a central cathedral). Then finally into Galicia - complete change of scenery - beautiful, green, lush and mountainous. Really spectacular. After around 7 hours of driving we finally arrived in Tui. We met Maria's beautiful family - the most warm and welcoming people. Spanish hospitality is amazing - we have treated so well. The Spanish lifestyle takes a bit of getting used to though. We arrived at 6.00pm and didn't start dinner till 9.00pm. Bed around 11.30pm. Everything happens later and at a much slower pace.
