After a few days in Woodstock, which is lovely but very small and posh, Dan and I were getting itchy feet for London where we had plans with the legendary Ginga Mark, and my good friend Hannah. Mark lives on the East end in a townhouse with rooms he's painted yellow, orange, and lime green. We felt right at home. After making dinner and a bit of dancing around the kitchen, we got dressed and ready to go to a nearby dubstep warehouse party.
This was my first warehouse party, and I'm not sure if it qualifies because it was really someone's converted apartment next door to a recording studio. It was such an amazing spread-the-love experience. I met a few great new people and really connected over conversations about life and music. We finally got back to Mark's at 5AM and wondered how it had become so late (or so early!).
After a bit of rest we were up for the day, cooking and listening to more music, and we left Mark and Hannah with a dinner at a Greek restaurant and a walk in the local park.
On the way back to Woodstock, Dan and I stopped for a pint in Oxford with his friends Mal and Gabby, who are perhaps the most international, interesting, and wonderful people I've met. They've moved to Australia 18 months ago, and because of their stories my new goal is to find work in Melbourne.
Dan and I had plans for a jam packed day that included meeting his dad for lunch, meeting friends for a pint, and ending up in Penrith with the rest of his family, BUT it has been snowing in England and we woke up late. I'll write more later.
