As usual the flight over was an adventure. Left Heathrow 1 hour late and then at the connection in Newark the bags took 1hr 15 minutes to come through. This meant that I had missed my connecting flight to Orlando. The next 2 flights were also fully booked and I was put on standby for both and confirmed on the 9.05pm. The first flight was at 4.30 and the second was at 6.10 that I was on standby for. The 4.20 was delayed until 6pm and so I had the dilemma of deciding which gate to be at as both were each end of the terminal. After a call to my Travel agent friend who checked live availability I went for the 6.10 and managed to grab the last seat. This was lucky as the 9.05 was delayed and wouldn't arrive in Orlando until 1.45am which would be 2 hours after my kids arrived from Toronto. In the end all worked out fine but not without some sweat running between gates in Newark. Given this was was only my second of 15 flights no doubt I will be having more fun at the airport.
