Hi everyone.
To be honest, there hasn't been much going on in the last couple of weeks, but as to not forget the little things that have happened, I thought it would be a novel idea to write a few things down.
Buenos Aires is business as usual, the city is getting hotter, the subway is getting more crowded, and more and more people from the house are beginning to depart and go onto their separate adventures either off towards Peru and Bolivia or into Brazil mostly. After a solid week of not having anyone in the house, a slew of friends came back and its been great, social activity back in order.
More city exploration, more food enjoyment, and some nights out with friends. We've had a couple of social activities in the house, including a group dinner, a tango lesson and show which was nice, but not for me. I can say that I don't mind the dancing so much, its just how unnatural it feels to be paired up with a perfect stranger and expected to just hit it off and get started.
ANYWAY, two cool experiences since we last spoke (or rather, I wrote and you read, or didn't...). Last weekend there was a night called Noche de los museos (Night of the Museums), where 172 museums in the city stayed open from 10 pm to 2 am and were all free, including the extensive bus transportation to get you almost anywhere. It was really so interesting to see how many people showed up, adults, teenagers and children alike. That night I discovered that there is both a Holocaust museum (which was way too packed that night) and a Jewish museum here, which I hope to go to.
As a result of seeing such an amount of Jewish people in one place, I decided to enquire where I can get some Kosher grub and found this great street, a couple blocks long with all sorts of Kosher cuisine (Chinese, Italian, a Steakhouse, Bakery, Dessert, and so on...). That night, as I now realize it turns out led into interesting experience numero dos. I decided to follow my heart and stomach back to Kosher McDonalds and to my shock and surprise, heard a group of about 15 Jewish Americans there. I tried to listen and figure out what they might be doing there to no avail. I sat and ate by myself and, as anyone who knows me knows that curiosity REALLY kills me, I decided to go ask their chaperones, seated separately, what they were doing there. To be honest, it wasn't an interesting story, but it was still comforting to encounter some Jewish Americans in a land full of unfamiliarity and foreign languages/ accents.
Tomorrow morning, we're headed off to a river town about an hour outside of the city for the day, called Tigre. I don't anticipate anything too exciting from that but will report back with more good news, should there be any.
In brief and semi-unrelated news, I'm beginning to sort out more side trips.
Starting around December 16, I plan to go to Mendoza (the wine region of Argentina), Patagonia (the South and beautiful landscape region of Argentina), return to Buenos Aires.
From there, I plan to head north to Iguazu, now that I can see both sides, travel to Rio de Janeiro for New Years, to Salvador da Bahia (more to the North), possibly to Recife (where the oldest Synagogue in the America's is) and finally São Paulo.
More importantly (to me), I've booked my trip to Israel, and plan to book a quick trip to Athens, Greece where I will be able to spend a few days with Kesha and Kevin). Hopefully more pieces will fall into place and more fun can be had.
That's it and that's all folks! And remember, Have you pets spayed or neutered.

Rachel Sabes David! Loved reading your blog! You sound exactly like how you talk which makes me miss you but love reading your blog! Noche de los Museos sounds AWESOME! I can not believe how many museums there are in just one city! Hearing about Jews and Jewish things makes me miss Hillel and Jewish stuff since there is like ZERO Jewish things going on in Granada! Anyway, I am glad to hear you are enjoying mostly everything and I am excited to read more soon! Awesome website by the way :) Miss ya, take care!
