Hey guys...well where to start??? finally left Melbourne after working our nuts off for 3 months. I had a few jobs from working in bar to sticking stickers on bottles, how much fun that was!!! where Ad stuck to what he knows best, working in a joiner shop. Met some great people while in Melbourne and travelling with some off them now, their irish tho!!! only joking their really cool and having a good with them. Well at the mo we are on our road trip up the middle of oz in our van Talullah!!! what a beast!!!. First stop was Adeladide. We were told Adeladide werent all that but all of us thought it was nice. Met up with some family friend while there, big thank you to Penny for the nicest dinner ive had in months ( pasta and noodles dont cut it anymore) and Andrew & Deb for a wicked day with the lads. 7 off us 2 vans and all the beer we could fit in hit the road and left for our road trip. Only drove about 4hrs due to the fact we didnt leave till late and all had a sore head. Stayed in a town called port augusta, found a camp site and went fishing for our dinner, glad we had other food coz we only caught 2 tiny salmon that wouldnt fill up a small rat. Next day hit a small opal mining town called Coober Pedy where everyone lives under ground. up early next day, stocked up the vans (manly beer) and head to the red center. Didnt make that day but got close, found a free campsite called curtain spring not to far from the rock. It was Ad's b'day so we decided to have a little party in the desert, lit a fire and had a few beers, well more than a few. All with sore heads we made a plan to see the kings canyon first then see the rock at sunset. Made the canyon in time and did the 3.5hr walk in just over an hour, how fit we are!!! this is where the fun begins!!! All jumped in the van to make the sunset got 5 mins up the road and Talullah decided to break down in the middle of no where...nice!!! got a tow 30km to the nearest station from a couple we raved with on Ad's b'day which was lucky. Little did we know kings creek station would be our home for the next 6 days. Found the problem so Ad and myself made a 900km round trip to Alice to pick up a part, got back and the part was to big. Sent it back on the bus coz we couldnt be arsed to bum another lift. We got the others who made it to alice to send up the right part. We were all so happy to see the part, the red dust was really starting to piss us off, But the part didnt fit. We all had to see the funny side otherwise we would go mental. Day 5 i made my way down to alice to hopefully get the right part, another 900km round trip. Cut a long story short i got the new part and stayed in alice the night with the others, which was nice for me, but the other poor stranded souls were working in the camp site to pay off our fees...hahaha. All ended well, We saw Uluru and Kata Tijuta, Talullah is now purring like a kitten and we are back to civilisition. Hitting the road again soon, heading to Darwin, so we all hope the 2nd part goes ok. Fingers crossed!! Bye for now Daz and Ad xx
