Well hey there guy's just a little update on our trip so far... Arrived in Cape Town friday about 2.30pm a little later than expected due to delay at Heathrow, which under circurstances was not to be helped. Shuttle ride from airport was a little bizare the driver was on and off his mobile for entire journey and the other guy in the mininbus got a little irate and started shouting and prodding the driver and at one point tried to take over the wheel hence to say we were lucky to get to our hostel in one piece. We dumped our bags at the hostel then went for a walk around to check out the area we headed for kloof and long street which are both full of nice shops, restaurants, and bars, we had our first South African beer but it was so windy we had to hold on to it for dear life as other glasses where flying off table. Came back to hostel had a little snooze then headed up to bar, which just so happen's to be above our bedroom. Had a couple of beers and a toastie (very South African!) note to oneself don't sit near pool table had to spend most of the time ducking and diving trying to avoid being knocked out!!!! Early night, lack of sleep and those couple of beers made the fact we had a disco above our heads hardly noticably.
Saturday-up early, have to get used to hostel life, guy above me launched himself off top bunk at 7.30am. Went up Table mountain today couldn't quite face the climb so took the cable car, amazing views from the top. Spent rest of day down at Victoria & Albert dock's again very nice lots of bars and restaurants, even saw some seals both in and out of the sea. Came home beer in bar then went out for a meal our first proper meal since we've been here, back to hostel another beer then to bed.
Up again early today we went on a Cape peninsula tour it took in Hoots bay and the seals, Simon's town and the cute penguins on Boulder's beach, then we did a cycle ride through Cape Peninsula national park which was a killer it's sooo windy here we were pratically blown off our bicycles, everytime you peddled forward you got blown back, the day ended viiting the Cape of Hope we climbed up to the lighthouse, again a killer (I must get down to the gym when I get back am soooo unfit) then afterwards we walked along the clifftop to the cape views were fantastic.
We are know back at hostel just tried to cram everything back in my rucksack, (never gonna happen) we are off to Stellenbosch tommorrow were we are going on a vineyard tour, can't wait. Will try to get some piccies on here soon although me and Hannah do look a little scary it's been so windy we look like we've been dragged through a hedge backwards on them. Must go just off for some dinner.
