Hey, I just typed loads out and tried uploading it but it wiped what i wrote (and with the tiredness of jet lag im very annoyed lol)
Today i went on a VIP coach tour of LA. The first bit of info that i remember is the LAX airport sign. Why LAX? thats the first three letters of laxative so why have it as the name of your airport? Well, the LA council chose to name it that way because the 'X' stands for gateway, pretty cool bit of info as I'd have never of guessed that!
The coach took us first to Venice Beach, a lovely place. The same layout as the Venice in Italy was used to create this area. The place is filled with canals cutting through the neighbourhood. On the beach there is a huge V shaped scuplture, not sure why it was put there but still looks cool. I guess its just a symbol for the place itself. VB has miles and miles of hot sandy beach, perfect for surfers. The tour guide told us the 3 most important things when living/staying here are 1. Your wetsuit, 2. Your surfboard, and 3. Your surfers girlfriend! Made me laugh, very appealing place. Muscle beach was a mile or so down the beach but i didnt get to see that. The artwork around the city is beautiful too, although I dint have many chances to take photos of all of it.
Next we moved onto Beverly Hills, we drove through the main high street, hundreds of top brand superstores...Gucci, D&G, Louis Vuitton...loads! The place is filled with cars, although the cheapest car is probably a BMW, managed to see a ferrari, the tour guide also said at a hotel last week he saw Tom Cruises Bugatti Veyron...awesome!
We stopped off at farmers market for a light lunch. This was created and is owned by the gilmore family (no relation to gilmore girls!). The place is small but nice, the highstreet is quite narrow, and filled with shops.
Next was the walk of stars. Awesome sight to see, there are 5 types of stars...radio,music,tv,film and theatre. I think the only guy to get a star for all 5 is a guy called bob hope (not 100% sure though). I got a pic with Arnie and Jacko, and saw Sly Stallone (all stars on the floor mind you). I managed to see the Hollywood sign in the distance so took a pic of that although we dint actually make it up there. Cool! (I say cool a lot now as thats all our tour guide said 'Cool', in his american accent!)
Anyways, i'm staying at the Holiday Inn for a further 2 nights before jetting up to San Fran! I'm tired now and so I'm off to bed. Night
