I did this on purpose...to keep you all in suspense!
Friday 20th - San Diego
Today we visited San Diego. California's second largest city and the United States' eighth largest, San Diego boasts a citywide population of nearly 1.3 million residents . Within its borders of 4,200 sq. miles, San Diego County encompasses 18 incorporated cities and numerous other charming neighborhoods and communities. It's a quiet Spanish/Mexican style town. The weather was beautiful when we arrived.
We had lunch and then played some beach frisbee, before heading over to Mission Beach to enjoy an afternoon of surfing and then watching the sun set. Surfing was brilliant, as you can see from the pictures i managed to stand up on a few occasions. Got some practice in for new zealand and australia's beaches.
After watching the sun set we went to Old Town in San Diego, which was full of mexican and spanish restaurants and shops. After walking down the small strip, we stopped off and had our tea in Cafe Coyote, which specialised in Mexican Dishes. I chose good old Chicken Fajitas, and washed it down with two margharitas...one of which tasted just of Tequila...not the best thing to drink your meal with!
Whilst eating we had a trio of Mexican men come up to our table and offered to play us some music on their guitars...La Bamba was played and we all joined in with them.
Our final night was spent in...cabins! Again! I love cabins! :-S It was pretty good for our last night though, we had a campfire going, and had heaters that worked with no noise in the cabin, so i was a lot warmer than on my first night! We all had some drinks, i shared some Jaegermeister, whilst someone else had bought some Clam and Tomato flavoured Beer...yes you guessed it, it tasted horrible, like cold cuppa soup mixed with beer...
Saturday 21st - LA and End of Tour
Our last day was probably one of the shorter journeys. Back to LA for our final stop as a group.
We visited the Walk Of Fame once more, and it was still enjoyable the second time around. I got a few more pictures with some of the stars. Some of the group had booked hostels along the walk of fame, so we said our goodbyes, but arranged to meet later on that evening for dinner. From there we drove through Rodeo Drive, and we got to see all the posh shops again, where a pair of socks is worth $400! lol.
We were then dropped off at the Holiday Inn LAX. We left to go back to the walk of fame for dinner at about 6pm, so that we could look around first. We ate dinner in the Roosevelt Hotel, all eating burgers and drinking flavoured malts. We then said our final goodbyes and got a taxi home to the hotel. This was the end...
My last two days were just spent chilling out really, waiting for my flight over to New Zealand...where my next adventure would begin.
