The boat to Bounty wasn't a very nice experience on my own having said goodbye to the lads but I was lucky enough to stumble upon a group I had already seen on the other islands. So Bounty turned out to be very enjoyable. A much better equipped island with nice meals and free activities, both of which I took full advantage of: kayaking around the whole island to get a bit of fitness and going out snorkelling. On the topic of fitness I have actually been keeping in relatively good shape with the amount of swimming and activities I have been doing so I'm not quite there with the beer belly yet, or more appropriately a rum belly. That evening was spent dominating the pool table, the first one I had seen since New Zealand and how refreshing it was to have the cue in my hand again. A good night's sleep in an amazingly air conditioned room set me up to head to my last island of my trip, the tiny island of South Sea.
Famous for taking three minutes to walk around, I didn't expect much from South Sea Island, but how wrong I was. On arrival we were treated to an all you can eat buffet followed by an afternoon of free water sports in the perfect sun. Being such a remote island I was only going to stay there one night, but what sealed the deal for me was the candlelit sunset dinner we enjoyed that evening, followed by a spot of crab racing. A really good day that put me in good spirits for my last two days in Fiji. After saying goodbye to the girls who were on the island with me, I was now literally the only one on the island besides three members of staff. What is so crazy is again I thought this normal, having an entire island to myself. So I made the most of the peace and quiet, sorting my life out ready for the next part of my trip. That evening four other guests arrived leading to a romantic dinner for five that night as we watched lightning storms over the main island, enjoying perfect skies above us. After three days each with an all you can eat barbeque buffet, happy hour straight for 72 hours and enough water sports for a lifetime, I woke up early this morning ready to leave Fiji. My last swim was only fitting to my trip, with three little reef sharks joining me to say their goodbyes, completely unfazed I just carried on my morning wash. If I had been told at the start of my trip I would be enjoying my last wash in the sea with the company of three sharks I would have called the police, but that's Fiji. Now at the airport in shoes for the first time in over two weeks and trying to get my head around having to wear a top and after a shower at the airport in traditional traveller's style I'm now ready to fly. Covered in insect bites but looking and acting more like a Fijian than an Englishman, I head to Australia, with a few gentlemen I know from home coming out to join me, and what a month this will be.
