Hello again,
This has to be quick since we're at Chiang Mai Airport waiting for a plane to Bangkok. We've then got a 7 hour wait at that airport before flying off to Hanoi in North Vietnam!
The day before we left 'óur little slice of heaven' we enjoyed an elephant ride through the jungle (our animal turned out to be a juvenile delinquent who just wanted to pick up logs at one end and drop them at the other!!!) and then walked for about 3 hours visiting various hill tribes. We, again, had lunch at one of them and later on enjoyed a very relaxing bamboo raft ride down the Ping River. Another great day rounded off with sumptuous food in our nearest 'fusion' restaurant.
On Wednesday we transferred to a very nice-ish hotel in Chiang Mai and began to explore the city finishing with a few hours at the famous night bazaar. Here you can buy practically anything and the local venders do all they can to encourage to part with as much money as you are gullible for (it's amazing how much you can buy for a tenner -better than poundland!!!).
Today we visted a temple at the top of a mountain which overlooked Chiang Mai (we have now officially overdosed on temples!) and thus we are here. Will update from Hanoi (we hope), meanwhile, thanks for the messages. Talk soon.
