Day 2 was spent on a hop on hop off bus. Visited Capital hill (parlament house) we were able to see the senate and the representatives sitting and voting. the building itself is full of history and huge. Travelled around and saw the sites- national monument, Linchon Memorial, koren and WW2 memorials + lots of other memorials and statues. We finished at Grand Central station and had dinner their, huge selection for about $6 a meal. Got home at about 8 pm big ...

Arrived here at about midday and our hotel is only about 150m from the Smithonian museums. We spent all of the afteroon at the Air and Space museum. COuld have spent another day there. At night we walked up in to the main part of the city and found a place that only sold meatballs - great meal.

Started today off with a beautiful sunrise over Cocoa beach. Our unit is right on the ocean and we wake up to the waves hitting the beach. Kennedy space centre had only about 200 people there so it was perfect for getting to see everything. After seeing the rocket that went to the moon, you have to be inpressed with the confidence that the astronauts had as they were literally sitting on top of a giant fuel tank about 100m long. Today we went gator hunting. A bit dispointing as we only saw 2 in the wild and they were not that big. In saying that we went on an air boat and saw the everglades. Today saw us drive for 7 hours from Key West to Cocoa beach ready for Kennedy space centre tommorrow.

Driving down from Miami we came across another world that lives at the southern most part of the USA- Key West. This place has such a big history and is full of life. We went on a monday as we were told it would be quiet........imagine the Quenn Street mall on a friday night and this is what we found. Beautiful houses to be found everywhere + a US naval/air base as well. Great seafood.
