We had an attempt at sight seeing this morning. Went to a Japanese tea house run by the deaf, lovely place, you ordered by pointing and a lot of smiles. Enjoyed Vietnamese coffee and cookie sample plate. (I know coffee in a tea house but neither of us enjoy tea). After the tea house we went for a walk around old town and it started to tip it down. Found shelter in a Vietnamese coffee shop for more caffeine, the coffee's strong over here.
David braved the roads on a bicycle from the hotel. He headed along the coast road to the beach and along the back roads back again when he promptly got lost. Beach was windswept and desolate. Local fishermen out in the Viet version of a coracle before retiring to hammocks. You see waiting hammocks everywhere. The Vietnamese seem to have long tradition of siesta.
More rain meant the tourists and street sellers left us to wander around the streets. Hoi An town quiet for once and tables free in the pick of the restaurants. Finally got into one we've been stalking for a table for the last 3 nights and a window seat in our favourite bar.
Off to Denang tomorrow

Bev News from home in the Journal: A regional fund management firm has reached a £10m milestone in realisations from investments it has made so far. NEL Fund Managers, based in Newcastle, has achieved the landmark in its operation of the Finance For Business North East Growth Fund, with the eight-figure sum comprising a mix of loan repayments, interest, profit shares and dividends spread across the 94 Growth Fund investments made since 2010. It has a nice pic of Barrie too! Just thought you might be interested. Cheers Bev
