I've just spent a crazy 3 days 2 nights on a backpackers tour of Halong Bay. Unfortunately my camera broke on the first day so I've got hardly any photos. The first day we took the 4 hour bus ride from Hanoi out to Halong Bay and then we were ferried across to our boat. The day's activities included drinking, swiming/diving off the boat, drinking, kayaking around the islands and caves, drinking, dinner, after-dinner drinks, drinking games and then the serious drinking began. Day two was spent on a beach on 'Castaway Island' where there was wakeboarding, tubing, volleyball and general lazing about. After dinner and drinks we slept in bamboo huts. Day three was a very groggy ride back to shore and return bus trip that seemed to take forever. I'm here for one more day in Hanoi before taking the night-train out to Sapa to spend a few days treking on another tour.
