Our Year of Adventure
We awoke relaxed after a great nights sleep in the really, really comfy bed in Chalten Suites. Maybe a combination of the very long walk, a bottle of wine and a spa bath helped us into a deep slumber last night, but regardless we woke up feeling good.
We had already decided that we wouldn't be doing much today, we'd had good weather yesterday and walked a bit further than we intended while the going was good. First things first for the day though was the awesome breakfast. With no rush to leave, we took our time and even had an extra coffee and piece of cake.
After breakfast we took a walk down to Rio de las Vueltas and were going to venture over the bridge but we decided against it. A guy on the other side was struggling to get his two horses to cross the bridge. The horses looked a bit too agitated for us to get up close to them and besides, there didn't seem to be too much to see on that side of the river.
We took a walk to the National Park office to check out their exhibition. They had information about all the flora and fauna that we could see within the area, but more interesting, at least for David, was how and when the surrounding landscape was created.
We chilled out for the afternoon at the hotel and then went to Vineria for a drink. They had a huge selection of wines and beers and the menu didn't look too bad either so we took a cheese and salami platter. Maria tried the Don David wine, which wasn't too bad at all, and David settled for a locally made stout which was really good.
