Mui Ne
After spending a week in Nha Trang we decided to move down to the next beach ... Mui Ne! It said in the bible (lonely planet) that it boasts the best beaches in Vietnam, as well as further out the is miles of sand dunes. We took the bus there which took six or seven hours, when arrived we were surprised about how spread out Mui Ne was, there is no central area for shops, restaurants and all the rest. Due to this we ended up needing to use a taxi to get everywhere, but they were cheap, like 40p maximum a ride. So we headed to a lonely planet recommendation called Wind Champs Resort, however after been given two rooms that run down rooms with broken air con and toilets that flushed water over the bathroom floor as well as a shower head that wasn't attached to the wall. We relocated to the Austrian Vietnamese Guesthouse, which is the newest place we have ever stayed in this whole trip. And the bath was amazing, better than my bathroom at home and all for $15 a night.
We spent much of the next few days chilling out on the beach and getting tanned, I read the time travelers wife and David read Slash's Autobiography. The beach stretched for miles either end, we never went to the sand dunes really, as we were quite content with the beach on our door step, although you had to be speedy with getting your towel on a sun lounger. The place two doors up the beach from us you could get fresh sea food for less than a pound, although they had rats, well it was more like the area has rats everywhere. Seems as the locals leave rubbish on the street, the whole area has a rat problem, they never bothered us through so I didn't care (I think I only ever saw about 4 the whole time). A couple of doors the other way the hotel had two massive bull dogs, English bull dogs two, I've never seen such huge beasts for dogs before, they were really short and stocky and built.
A few days later Crystal and Niall turned up, that evening we went out for food and a few drinks. The next day was our last day in paradise, Sagion is the next stop. So we made the most of the sun and laid out in it all day until sunset, went for a walk down the beach as we knew we might not be by a beach again for s while. We really enjoyed out time in Mui Ne, the guesthouse was brilliant and the beach was beautiful.
