I thought I'd sum up the excursion and our experience of the country via the medium of... the list.

• Apple orchards
• Crunchy apples
• Thin roads with confident drivers
• Blondes
• Camping huts everywhere
• Everyone speaks English
• Everyone is genuine and has time for you
• Everything's 2.5x more expensive
• It's light at 10.30pm
• Intimidating and oppressive landscape in bad weather. Exhilarating and impressive landscape in good weather.
• Confident children
• Tunnels... so big they have names
• Spring waterfalls... so big they have names
• Lots of fish
• Strange fashion - the good looking people dressed strange with garish trousers with checks or the Norwegian flag.
• Sheer drops on one side of the road
• No road barriers!
• Wieners
• Kind and amiable people who treasure interaction with people.
• Towns are far apart, so communities are tight
• Car ferries
• 10ft walls of snow marking some roads
• Seriously still, peaceful lakes
• No trolls :(
