Howdy!

Arrived in LA on Friday night. Pretty knackered after flight so turned in after going for a quick walk around Santa Monica.

Santa Monica is really nice. Pretty upmarket and it has loads of decent shops, restaurants and bars.

Went on a walking tour of Santa Monica on Saturday morning which was interesting. In the afternoon, took the bus to downtown LA which was pretty scary. Wandered about for about 10 mins before deciding to jump back on the bus and head over to Venice.

I wandered along to Santa Monica pier. There were a load of bands playing there as part of the beatles tribute weekend. Met some interesting characters on the pier and ended up having a good few beers with them!

The food and weather here are amazing. The Mexican food is great, and it's been sunny and hot every day, around 70 degrees. Hostel is ok but a bit dull. Pretty clean and free breakfast is decent but no alcohol allowed!

Went for a run to Venice beach and back yesterday then strolled through the weird and wonderful shops. Watched a basketball game at Venice before heading back to Santa Monica. Went out for dinner a "British pub" - I know, not exactly adventurous - which was about as British as Bruce Springsteen.

Chilling out today in the sun and making plans for Vancouver where I'm heading to tomorrow.
