Dave & Hels world tour
We got a coach from surfers to Byron Bay which is the most easterly pint in Oz. Unbeknown to us BB is a further hour ahead of surfers which meant we were now 11 hours ahead of UK time.
Once we arrived, we checked in and went for an exploration of the town, we both agreed that Byron Bay was a stereotypical australian town. The beach was beautiful, with a great beach bar, and the waves were definately up to scratch. That night we went out with the guys in our dorm/ apartment to the one and only club "cheeky monkeys" - the cheesiest night ever. Think dancing on tables to doing the YMCA!!
The next day was sunny but calm so still no surfing but we had a nice relaxing day in the sun. We also heard from some guys we met in Singapore who were flying through Byron Bay in their campervan and wanted to meet up. We went for a drink and saw their campervan which was bright green and complete with a DVD player in the back, we were very impressed.
The next day was bad weather (again!) but we decided to go surfing with the guys using their van to go to a beach near which was allegedly perfect for beginners! Well we dont know who thought that up because the surf was around 6ft that day! As it was rainy it took nearly all our courage just to get in the sea, but we managed to brave it for a brilliant few hours in the sea. We wouldn't say we were going to be pro surfers but we all stood up - even if it was only for a few seconds!!
Enjoy the photos and hope you are all well
