So its departure day - how depressing? We left at 4.30 am, caught a boat to the main beach and then a cab to the ferry, where we sat in the back of a pickup truck and drove the windiest streets ever! We saw the most dreadful thing too, someone obviously got on their moped a little the worse for wear and crashed it into the side of a cliff. We couldn't stop the taxi though, and felt really bad. When we got to the ferry, the cab driver said it was a common occurrence, and hardly anyone ever died! Well that's reassuring…Anyhow boat to Surat, then 3 coaches later we were at Phuket airport! I never in a million years thought we would make it all this was for only £10 in 9 hours. Obviously we were sad to leave but it looked like Thailand was sadder to let us go - it stormed - and even the airport leaked. Through the lights I may add, which was slightly scary due to the fact electricity and water - has no one ever told the Thai people that these do not mix well!Anyhow we said goodbye to Alice, Shannon and Stuart, and headed to Singapore. Now I am not a huge fan of Singapore - apart from the airport which is my favourite airport in the world - being detained there for 12 hours was also pretty luxurious last time!So we had a stop over of a night, so I though I'd show Danny the highlights - since we were only there from 9pm, the night Safari - which is the highlight of Singapore was a little too much, and Sentosa Island was out of the question! so I took Danny to Raffles, which is gorgeous! For a Singapore Sling, and then a mini tour around downtown. Including the convention centre, skyline, bars and Raffles walk - before we headed back to the airport! Its as humid as I remember it in Singapore, and as clean too! At the airport I got to see the Cup Final on egg shaped chairs before heading to a sofa to sleep. And now we are heading home!!!!! One way ticket to Australia anyone?
