Hi everyone,
Sorry it's been a few weeks since we last put an entry onto here.
Well since the last time we wrote we have done lots of stuff that we have to tell you all about. The Full Moon Party was great we didn't get too drunk though as had to get up and get the ferry to get to Phuket the next day. Didn't get home till like 4am though so we were both really tired the next day. Again sorry no pics but were trying for you as we want you to see all the amazing things we have seen.
Took us about 12 hours to get to Phuket in the end and it was such a crap journey. Firstly we had to get the ferry to the main land which took about 2 and a half hours. Then we got a coach which took us to another place, last but not least we had to get a minibus to Phuket. It was so cramped and uncomfortable as they had 12 people in there and this was like a 4 hour journey. We finally arrived at 11pm at night and went straight to bed as we were both just so tired. We had 4 days in Phuket in all which was nice we just went to the beach and chilled out really. It was my birthday while we were there aswell but unfortunately I was ill so didn't have the best of days. I was feeling much better a few days later though which was good as we had booked to go to Krabi.
We booked 2 nights in a hostel and the first day we went on a trip to the Phi Phi Islands. It was such a wicked day and it definately made up for me being ill on my birthday. First we went to Phi Phi Ley and to Maya Bay where the film The Beach was filmed. It was a nice beach but there were alot of tourists there, we got there early though so it was nice and empty but by the time we were leaving the beach was packed. Our next stop was just round the corner where we got to snorkell, it was so nice there were hundreds of fish all around us. We didn't have an underwater camera but wish we had as i've never seen so many fish in one place. They kept touching you which was really weird as they usually just swim away when your near them. Once we had finished snorkelling we went past Viking Cave which is where they harvest the birds nest for birds nest soup, sounds gross but they eat weird stuff in Thailand so not surprised. We then headed to Phi Phi Don where we had some lunch and looked around for abit. After lunch we got to do some more snorkelling and it was great again they have all these little reefs around the islands where there are loads of different fish. We then headed for our last stop which was Bamboo Island where we got to do some sunbathing and more snorkelling before heading back home.
The next day we were leaving to catch the train to Kuala Lumpur, it took us around 4 hours to get to the station and then we had to wait another 3 hours before the train left. We got on the train which would be over night to Kuala Lumpur. It took about 2 hours to get to the boarder and we had to get off and get our passports checked and stamped. Our passports are full of stamps now from all the places weve been. We arrived in Kuala Lumpur at about 7.30am the next day and went and booked into our hotel. We thought we would treat ourselves and book into the Hilton as we were only staying for one night. It was such a lovely hotel room with a great view and a great bed and a massive bath. We said it was both our treats for our birthdays as we were travelling on a bus on Dals and I was ill. After week checked in we went into the center of town to see the Petronas Towers. We went and looked around in the shopping centre underneath and then went to the towers. We should of gone there first though as we didn't realise there were only so many tickets each day to get up to the viewing deck inbetween the towers. There had run out by the time we had got there which was a shame but I'm sure Dal didn't mind as they were well high!!!!! We got some great pictures of the towers though which you should see soon!!!! In the evening we just had some drinks and dinner at the hotel bar and then went up to bed as we had the train the next morning to Singapore.
The train to Singapore was at about 8.30am and it took about 8 hours to get to Singapore. We had to get off and go through customs again so another stamp for the passport. We arrived into town at about 4.30pm and started to search for a hostel. Everyone we went into did not have double rooms, we decided to stay in a dorm. Well big mistake we walked in and it was the smallest room with 3 bunkbeds and the sheets they had given us smelt gross. We chucked in our bags and went for a walk. We found a hotel just around the corner which had rooms so booked 3 nights and then went and got our stuff. Our first dorm experience was not great!!!!!!!
We had a really nice couple of days in Singapore walking around, we went to Raffles Hotels Long Bar and had Singapore Slings. Its where the Singapore Sling was invented apparently it was a very nice hotel aswell. The next day we went to the Singapore Zoo which was really great, they are a sister zoo with Australia Zoo.
Well our next stop is Australia, we are flying into Perth and will work our way around from there.
