We started our trip in Marrakech where we met the rest of our Travel Talk tour group. We spent some time walking around Djeema El Fna - the main square on Marrakech, bedazzled by the sights of monkeys, snake charmers, singers, fighters, games and more. We then had a long drive east across Morocco, over the Atlas Mountains before arrived at our campsite near Zagora in the Saharan dessert. We weren't exactly slumming it with our huge private tents (bigger than our room at home) which included lanterns, towels and bedside tables. The night was spent eating Moroccan food, drinking Moroccan red wine and toasting marshmallows over a campfire - not a bad way to spend a night. Armed with our newly bought turbans we took off in our 4x4 across the Sahara desert to Chigaga. After a bumpy ride we arrived just in time to climb a huge 300 metre sand dune to see the sun set over the desert. The next day it was back to our original desert campsite where we found some camels waiting for us. Riding camels was fun for the first 10 minutes but then it became very painful. The next day everyone was feeling the pain. Our time in the desert was over though and it was time to check out some Moroccan cities. On the way out of the desert we stopped by the very unique site of goats in trees! This was because the goats love the very top leaves of the argon tree which is only found in Morocco. The first city on the list was Agadir, a coastal town known mostly for its many resorts. We spent the night trying some local cuisine from a typical Moroccan house, trying some local beers and smoking some shisha, trying to numb the pain from the camel riding the day before. Our next city was Essaouria which was a gorgeous seaside town well known for its seafood (very delicious), art (so good we picked up some), markets (where we picked up some more stuff) and port (some amazing sites). Unfortunately we had to leave Essaouria and drive back to Marrakech. In Marrakech we had our final dinner in Morocco and we celebrated this by splashing out a bit and had a huge feast of food. We enjoyed the food surrounded by traditional dancers, singers, music and even belly-dancers. We did some final shopping in Marrakech before we had a final Moroccan lunch and said goodbye to our new friends and began the long trek back to London (and reality).
