Day 16 Monday 24th
Royal flying Doctors museum, did the tour Mr Flynn is an inspiring fellow and a very worthy cause for the people of the outback. Great set up at museum with a film featuring a hologram of Flynn. Able to sit in a plane and of course spend pocket money on fluffy flying doctor toys!
.
On to the School of the Air, had the pleasure of the museum director to give us the tour due to a few staff off sick. Again gave us some more perspective of the distance and the isolation.
Worlds largest classroom covering 1.3 million square kilometres. Pre school to year 9 they have 142 students this year.
.
Lunch in the Mall was cut short once the girls found insects in our Cous Cous salad!
We had to get some replacement thongs for Matilda and Grace. Much to JD's dismay, he hates shopping in any form.
.
Back to pool and the weird little mow hawk birds, low flying, noisey sound like miniature helicopters! JD cycled back into town to go to the Museum of Central Australia unfortunately it was closing so he opted for half an hour in the Aviation Museum. Rode around the industrial area of Alice for his mental health bought himself a new tyre for his bike as he had purchased a faulty unit from a mate.
Kids played and swam till dark then dinner and a movie.
