As Allisona nd I wait for our plane flight back home after moe than two months, I am writing this short blog to sum up our Finland travels. We have done so much and I was really glad to have experienced all of these things in Finland with, a friend, Allison! THe coolest thing that we experienced during a trip up to Northern Finland was the Northern Lights! We sat at the bottom of a mountain in Finland all bundled up with a cup of hot cocoa nd silently watched the northern lights! It has always been one of my dreams to see the northern lights!!! They were so amazing and beautiful! For some historical backround in Finland, Allison and I visited Hame castle! Hame castle is one of Finland's medieval castles and was believed to be built in the 13th century. Hame served as a prison fron the early 1800s until the late 1900s, and today it is a historical monument and museum. The castle is on the coast of a lake and was so cool to visit and learn about! Allison and I both purchased fun charms from Finland! The charm is of the Finnish flag and we both added them to our charm bracelets to rememeber the time that we spent together in Finland! During our visit to Finland, Allison and I had a meal of meatballs, served with mashed potatoes, cabbage rolls and some smoked salmon! It was a great meal and represented the foods that Finnish people eat regularly! Yesterday, Allison and I attended the Midnight Sun Jutajaiset festival in Lapland, Finland! The festival showcased original Finland dances and folk music! It was an upbeat, fun festival and very educational on the culture of Finland! I loved Finland and all of the things that I did here! But my flight is now boarding on my way home, this is just a short summary of a few of the things that we did in Finland!
