Hey all.... so I know that its been a while, but I've been occupado. For my photos, please look at my flickr site, it just is easier that way :)
So we flew into Brisbane and the next day immediately dove into wedding business, and that week FLEW by, but I got all gussied up and dressed like a girl. I caught the bouquet. I think I'm cursed, since that's the third bouquet I've caught and still, single as it gets :) We all went down to the beach that night and got up-to-no-goodness and were so tired when it came to moving out since I didnt go to sleep till 6am (I was concerned phil would sleep in and miss his flight... I'm so thoughtful)
A few days later I met up with Nols and we headed north to airlie beach at the south tip of the great barrier reef. After the most hellish 20 hour train ride ever (best birth control method, after sharing a car with about 8 or 10 kids under the age of 5 who have no idea how to behave in public since their parents are obviously morons) and we arrived at 4am.... It was so beautiful (and soooo bloody hot) and we went snorkelling and saw lots of awesome coral and we saw WILD sea turtles and saw jellyfish, but not the murderous invisible kind.... Just snotties. (they look like loogies in the water... GIANT loogies). We also went to Whitehaven Beach which is, no doubt, the most beautiful beach I have EVER seen.... more beautiful than any photo could ever justify. Unfortunately, it also has killer jellyfish and we kept our stinger suits on at all times. no messing around here..... however, its hard to flirt with your hot guide wearing a stinger suit and snorkel gear. The guy was like, if you wear your stinger suits to the bar, I will pay for your drinks all night! We're like, don't even tempt us. That'd put you out like.... 40 dollars! ha! suckas.....
We met a guy by the name of.... Dangerous Brian from saskatoon by way of victoria and some australians... and this one creepy one who wouldn't leave us alone. So we ditched him. Twice. Good times. Then we worked on our skin cancer for 3 days and took the train (21 hours and a medical emergency) back to Brisbane.... so God hates us. Why else would he put us on the train cars where they also put the MOST bratty and misbehaved children? Auuuggghhhh.
We went to the zoo today! Yay! I love elephants and tigers and crocodiles and alligators and snakes and koala bears and echidnas and wombats and tasmanian devils and birds of prey and kookaburras and kangaroos and wallabees and dingos and foxes and camels... but I hate cassowarries. so evil. Tomorrow we're going to the WATERSLIDES and then heading north for some trouble-making ;) Then sunday.... Off to Auckland!!!! But we're sooo sad to leave Peter and Jen and Kristen.... that's who we're staying with right now and they are truly some of the most amazing people.... every australian I haven't met in a bar has been amazing. :)
xoxoxox Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
