So we left Dalat to head to mui ne at 8 am. Mui ne is basically a beach resort of 11km which lies just outside a fishing village. Had we known this place was going to be so good we would of stayed for longer.
Four hours on a bus driving down the worst roads in history was not great fun. The bumps and lack of driving skills was practically throwing us out of our seats. Thankfully we stop and have a connecting minibus to take us the rest of the way.
We arrive smack bang in the middle of the resort and instead of staying there mark persuades me to walk to the end of the strip in search of the the sailing club hotel.. After 40 minutes of walking in the basking sun we check the map to find out how much further. I read up on the hotel and see it's $75 a night. "Dude are you crazy" We then get on a motorbike to go to another Guesthouse and it's about 8 km in the opposite direction. We get there to find there's no bars or restaurant's near us. Back on the bike again to where we started. By this time were starving and got some food at a bar called jibes. This bar was amazing. It is a surfers or water sport junkies dream. Being eager to learn to surf we check in to a hotel next door for $15 dollars. That afternoon we hired surf boards for an hour and i fell in love with the sport. Mark however wasn't as keen as he fell off and got a whack to the head. "Just a bad surfer homes". That night we hooked up with some friends, got some food and just had a really chilled night in jibes having a few beers. The following day we took a tour to visit the sand dunes which you could sledge down, a fishing village and a walk up the Fairy spring stream which flows through a patch of sand dunes and rock formation. Pretty good way to spend the afternoon. That night we meet up with some more friends, went to the pogo bar and then hit some real seedy club. Seedy it was but we still enjoyed our night.
The next day we met up with nick and neal on the beach to top the tans up and to do half a days surfing. Baing amateurs we hired boards out when the see was as still as a mill pound. Not the best idea. There were a few waves by the end of the day which i actually managed to catch. I even managed to stand up for a few waves only for about 3 seconds but it's still not bad as i havn't had any lessons and only six hours practice. Me and mark had a bus to catch at 2 am that morning to take us to Saigon. We decided it would be a good idea to get drunk for the journey to help us sleep but that never happened. However we did discover another wicked bar called wax that night.
If only we had another night
