Kathmandu, Nepal
Well as promised im finally getting my blog started but im writing on a rubbish keyboard so any spelling errors is down to that. honestly.
In bangkok as a write this but i ve been keeping a diary of mine and roscoes weird and wonderful adventures so i ll be basically summerising those for your enjoyment, and cutting out all the unsuitable stuff for parents and family members ;)
so we arrived in kathmandu after a horrible 6 hours in delhi airport. people say im judgemnetal but being in india even for that short amount of time really hasnt endeared the indian nation to me. it was hot, smelly and hostile! kathmandu airport was a bit of a joke too as it took nearly an hour for us to get our visa sorted!
but anyway we arrived and then nearly died straight away. the taxi journey was something else trust me. i d like to see waht happens when you re learning to drive in nepal cuz it just seemed like there wasnt any sort of highway code. they drove ojn the left (apparantly) but eeeryone jsut went where they wanted when they wanted. and dont even get me started on the motorbikes and rickshaws - utter deathtraps!
woke up in our hostel to find we had no electricity too. little did we know that the whole city goes out for a few hours a day. we didnt really do much for the first few days while we were waiting for the trek to start other than explore the local artea and visit a temple called the monkey temple - cuz of all the wild monkeys roaming about the place.
the trek was absolutely amazing and without doubt the single hardest physicalthing i have done in my life. the views of everest and the other surrounding mountains were breathtaking but i ll let you judge those for yourselves once i get a virus of my memory card!
once we got back to kathmandu there were a few of us still kicking around the place for a few days and it was one of the girls birthdays. had a blinding few days eating out and lots of celbratory drinks were had to say the least. absolutely magical moment on one of the hotel rooves at 4:30 in the morning when the city seemed dead it was so quiet. you had to be there.
