Today we did the things we couldn't do in the previous days..plus it didn't rain that much so it was nice. We woke up and went to Starbucks for breakfast. Folowing our caffeine breakfast we walked up towards the Edinburgh Castle. After a short hike up to the castle we had to wait in line for about 30 minutes to buy tickets, it wasn't too bad at all though because we were fairly high up so we could see a lot of the city. Once we got our tickets we went into the castle and jumped into one of the guided tours...it was neat to learn about the history of all the buildings and the castle itself. After our tour we were able to see the Scotish Crown Jewels (a big swords, sceptre, and crown) walk through the grand hall and make our way down into the prisons for P.O.Ws. It was all very cool. (Danny is intent now to build a castle for his house when he's older). After our Castle experience we walked around until we found ourselves in the Grassmarket..so we decided to stop in one of the local pubs, grab a bite to eat and a pint, then be on our way. After lunch we came back to the hostel...no not for a nap...but to check into our new room...again, the last one we'll be staying in and the last hostel room of our trip. After we settled in we headed out to walk around the park beneath the castle...the former north loch (it was filled with poo until it was drained). We sat in the park for a little while until we thought it would be nice to come back to the hostle for dinner....and yes another pint. After dinner we jumped on the internet for a bit before we were swarmed with a class group who took over the area we were in...so we had to leave. We uploaded the pictures from Scotland and now we're going to bed so we can head to London tomorrow evening then home Tuesday.
Thanks for sticking with us through our blogs and pictures...we've had a great time...thank you for everyone's messages...it really made us still feel connected to home. Have a great night everyone...we'll see ya on Tuesday!
