We hop on the 9:10 train to Vienna and it's pretty packed, maybe b/c of the Eurocup. We get into Vienna around noon and head towards Stephenplatz to show John & Erin the cathedral and get some more of those awesome sausages. Then we walk by the Hapsburg palace and on to the Fan Zone.John and I walk inside the fenced in area after a thorough body search…the girls had to stay behind b/c you couldn't even bring in cameras.Inside there's a lot of fun stuff like kicking a soccer ball into a the corners ofa goal and knocking over shoe boxes…there's even a lifesize foosball arena, if only we had the camera. We're amazed by how much area they have fenced off and all of the big screens everywhere. There's a countdown to the France-Romania game in 3 hours…too bad we have to get back to the airport, this place has to be crazy during game time.
We once again have no trouble getting to the airport, but going through security the peanut butter that we bought at the train station gets confiscated even though the seal is still on it (peanut butter is scarce in France and really expensive and we had peanut butter at our hostel when we came through on Thursday so we went searching for it). We arrive in Paris around 8pm and go to our hotel (we can't get a train back to Metz tonight because the last one leaves at 8pm, so we must get a morning train), unload and go to a nearby restaurant for some food and end up watching the end of Italy getting slaughtered by Holland. We've been in 3 capital cities in one day...that probably will never happen again in our lives.
