The rings weigh about 10-15 pounds total. There was half of the neck rings set out for us to lift. This is not a village it is a shopping mall. No one lives here, and it's several hill tribes selling their wares, not one. Aggressive. If you by from a stall of one tribe, you'll get yelled at by the other tribes for disrespecting their culture. Really, there are only so many purses and scarves a person can buy. Weird vibe here, and very much a people zoo. 30 min only. Our bus and several other cars were attacked by a naked tribal woman swinging a bamboo pole shortly before we arrived here. Cars swerved off the rode as she tried to break through the windshields. Our bus had to back up to get away from her and we almost got rear ended by a car rounding the corner. We backed onto the dirt shoulder and waited. A Thai man jumped out of one car and started yelling at her, I thought for sure he would get his head cracked open. She backed up and eventually backed down, and everyone carried on. At the opening to the road to the village, locals were whittling bamboo poles and stacking them neatly by the road side. No one wanted to get out when we stopped. As a side note, I enjoyed watching a land crab (about the size of a golf ball) attempting to attack passers by. No one else but Dan noticed.
