So....I have been in Sydney a week with Ozintro. Flew out from Heathrow with 7 others who I met at the airport. Some really nice girls, 2 of which I have made travelling plans with and others who I will be meeting along the way as I have similar plans.
I arrived tired after the 24 hour flight and then we were thrown straight into the OZINTRO week. First stop...jet boating on Sydney Harbour. No water ponchos for us! We were drenched. Loved it.
Day 2 was the city orientation and Sydney Aquarium day. Fact is even over the other side of the world, a fish is a fish unless its a shark and its chasing you around the sea!
Day 3 - Surfing. I was BAD! REALLY BAD! I think when the instructor spends and hour an a half dedicating himself to making you stand on a board whilst seeing everyone struggle, it puts you in the special needs category. I stood up once and was very proud of my accomplishment!
Day 4 was beach day! 30 plus of us went to Bondi (which is just like any other beach in the world) and then started the walk back to Clovelly for a BBQ and beach volleyball. Who knew volleyball would be a sport I might actually enjoy!
Off to the Blue Mountains for day 5. I think the thought of being out in the bush was enough alone to put me on edge. The views were amazing and no photo will ever do it justice but the heat plus uncountable steps and unsuitable shoes made it a tiring day. We also got our first glimpse of a Kangaroo and, perhaps not so enjoyable, a funnel web spider nest. I screamed, Sam screamed, everyone found it highly amusing!
6th day and time for a bit of our own time. We went off to Sydney centre and ended up Paddys Market. The evening followed with a Pub Crawl around the backpackers haunts of Sydney. Flu-stricken it was not the best night!
Day 7 came and so did the sun, so we baked ourselves on the beach before heading up Sydney Tower for dinner. No one told me it was a revolving tower!
Been a fab week, and now i'm moving into the city and out on my own! Booked up activities for the next 6 months! Best get looking for some work to fund them :S
