Danielles Little Vacation
Hi again,
Well here i go again trying to update you guys on the details of my little adventure, so as i mentioned previously after Byron bay we headed to surfers, which although it was like a classier version of blackpool we had alot of fun! We went out round surfers for st. paddys night along with the girls and boys we'd met along the coast (except Barry - who stayed in after a big night the night before.....) anyway it was a cracking night out and we had such a giggle. Except for when a guy revealed himself to us all outside a burger place (mummy, mia - think blackpool and you'd be spot on.....sorry to bring the image back to mind!!!!). However Fran, rightly so, gave this guy a complete telling off, making him scarper!! It was quite funny!!
After such an eventful night we decided to spend our last evening playing scrabble around the pool!
Sunday we headed to Brisbaine leaving Lisa and Fran behind in surfers with lisa's cousin!
Brisbaine was gorgeous especially the morning we spent at lone pine koala sanctuary, where we got to cuddle some of the cute creatures we also got to feed kangaroos - it was so sweet! Although i was a little nervous the koala was going to take a chunk out of my cheek!
We did alot of exploring round brisbaine, which is a stunning city and in my opinion much nicer than sydney, its hard to explain why - i just got a better feeling about it!
Our next stop up the coast was Noosa we only had a day here but i'm really glad we stopped off here as there was some amazing coastal walks, with stunning views we also got chance to watch all the surfers in action, which was pretty cool!!
Next was airley beach but before we got there we had a 16 hour over night bus to do, it wasn't too bad untill we broke down in the middle of nowhere which added another 3 hours onto our journey! not Fun!!!! Airley beach though is the only place i could see myself settling in, its really small and pretty, with lots of cafes along the beach and weekly markets where all the locals get together!
We then headed upto townsville where we boarded a ferry for magentic island, we were staying in a hostel right on the beach, so i was in my element! We decided to take a bus tour of the island, we were shown all the differents bays, and various places of local interets and history, we also got taken to see the biggest croc i've ever seen, which is kept in a mesh cage behind a pub - crazy people!! We also went to feed some rock wallabies - which were so cute especially the mummy with the baby in her pouch! For the rest of the time on the island we just chilled out round the pool! Which was nice! We did partake in the hostel quiz though - which my team completely dominated at and of corse won! Lets just say our team was mainly made up of brits so we were the loudest and most competitive!! It was a giggle though!
We are now in our last place in oz, cairns, as we head to new zealand on friday (my birthday - just in case you forgot!!) so i'll update this soon with my last few days in oz :(!
Take care
Missing you all
Lots of love
Danni
