Woke up very early and spent the rest of the morning reading. The train arrived into Aswan at around 10am where we caught a bus to our hotel which was quite nice, and in a fantastic location overlooking the Nile from up on a hill.
We had a chance to have some room service lunch and a shower before meeting the guide in the lobby at around 1pm.
After that we stopped by outside the site for the unfinished Obelisk (glad we didnt go in) and then headed out to the High Dam. It was built with the help of the soviets and has created a huge artifical lake. If the dam is destroyed than nearly all of Egypt would flood within 10 minutes.
From there we headed to Philae temple. It is situated on an island and we caught a rather small and old boat across to it. Had a guided tour then time to look around. Got hassled by guards again, wanting to show us places and take photos for us. Was a lovely warm evening. On our way back into Aswan we decided to stop off at McDonalds for dinner. It was in fact very nice and situated right on the Nile. Went to bed around 8pm as we had a very early start the next morning
