Hi guys
Finally out of China town now and have moved to Khao San Road were the food does not consist of chicken feet or shark fin. Since our last blog we have been to see the grand palace which is so stunning. The colours of the building are amazing. A lot of the buildings contain cut glass so they glisten in the sunlight. You can see our pictures now which are mainly of our visit to the palace. It was so hot but we had to cover up in trousers and a jumper nightmare. When we left the palace we went to see the reclining buddah which is massive! Whilst we were in the grounds we saw some monks carrying out a ceromony which was interesting. As we came out of the temple someone had took my shoes! Luckily the women who had took them was sat down and realised that the shoes she had on we're way too small! We decided to be adventurous and brave the streets of bangkok by walking back to the hotel as Ben was sure he knew the way. Well 1hour 30 minutes later we realised that we had ended up at the train station which is way past our hotel. After much conversation we decided to try and correct our mistake. Bad idea! We ended up in this back street of Bangkok and needless to say I was not happy. We decided now would be a good time to get a taxi. We stood were some Thai people were waiting as they usually know the spots to hail a cab in the mad traffic. We waited for about a minute when this taxi ignored all the locals and went straight to us knowing he could make a quick buck. We got in a metered taxi in which the driver insisted didn't work and that it would be 100 baht. Ben tried to negotiate but by this time we just wanted to get back to China town for the first time! We arrived back safe and sound thank god! This morning we had to leave the hotel with no idea of where we were going. We orginally wanted to leave Bangkok today and head for Chiang Mai. Little did we know that for New Year Thailand has a five day holiday and everyone heads back to their home town so all the trains and hotels are fully booked. We headed to Khao San Road with our backpacks in tow. I was so nervous that everything would be fully booked today but we have managed to find a guest house for a good price and an ok room so feeling a lot better now. Had a quick look round today and found this really nice Internet coffee shop we stopped there for a coffee with the idea that we could quickly loads some pics on here ( as we can't do it from out iPod) two hours later the pictures had finally downloaded and now we are just sat downstairs in the hotel having a beer and a coke.
Speak to soon Hugs and kisses.
