When you go travelling you are supposed to integrate yourself with the local culture, but perhaps taking a trip to an Buenos Aires hospital was taking it too far... It was nothing serious, but it was an interesting experience! Otherwise, the last week was all good fun, met loads of sound people, and I feel like I´ve got a good feel for the city now. And am still loving the food. It kind of feels quite European in this city, more noticeably than somewhere like Rio, where it was obvious at every turn you were on a different continent.
The trip to see Boca Juniors play at La Bombonera on sunday was nothing short of amazing. The football was good, even if there were no goals, but their crowd really put English supporters to shame. Went to the fanciest cemetery you have ever seen, includes Evita´s grave/shrine, it had to be seen to be believed. Last weekend there was also a street party which seemed to consist of kids squirting foam at each other out of gas canisters, bizarre!
Had a trip to Uruguay on Wed, that´s a fairly chilled-out country with nice beaches. And even hotter than BA. Though there was a fairly major thunderstorm here last night which resulted in me and my clothes gettinga completely soaked through. There´s loads of other stuff to tell but not even space here, so you will find out when I get home... Flying off to Kong Kong on Monday (takes three days due to the three flights required, a stop in LA and the international dateline). Hope all is well in the UK and the weather is not too bad!
Still struggling with uploading photos here (apologies - although the one above is representative of some of the places I´ve eaten) but I have put some on Facebook for those that are on it in the meantime. Will try and get things sorted soon.
