Hello one and all,
Right well i cant rember were i left off the last tiem so if i repeat myself sorry about that but im sure you'll still be intresed to hear my new stories.
Well anyway have made it to Brisbane otherwise know as Brisvegas. I don't know why this is it just is. Anyway I think you may all know that so i will move quickly on. I had started to work for Hay labour force which would have been fun working in the sun and doing something diffrent. However that only lasted 2 weeks before the work disappered adn i was left to try and find anything that was going anyway i got round to finding a new job with lifeline community care doing admin support. They are great and i have had loads of fun they have now ased me to work in another deparment in the same orgainzation.
I kind of jumped way forward rather than filling you in on all the stuff i have been upto. Well after spending 6 weeks in the bunk backpackers which was much fun making new friends a couple from canada a few from england and two girls for Newcastle. Not many irish people you will note that was untill me and Donald moved into Tans house then and only then did i find out were all the irish people were for Brisbane in this on huge house so me and donald moved in makes use the only two none full irish people in the house. It was intreseting to see thier reaction we were very much the British and i don't know how many times i was called english in my first few days but i soon put a stop to that. I thought you had to be born in that country to be that nationality. It was intresting to meet people of this age who were what one can only call republician belived the rubish that Sin Fien had been feeding then and did'nt really know anything about N.Ireland. An argument i had in my first few day in the house only in jest not was that the IRA only ever trageted British pubs so i ask "whats a british pub" to this i got a look of what do you mean so i had to explain that Northern Irish people lived in Northern Ireland and that pubs were Northern Irish. To which i got the responce of well "those pubs". So i pointed out that N.Irish people tended to get on and if you went to a pub thier are mostly mixted with just normal everday people. Again a reaction of do the brists not stand out like a sore thumb. At which point i new i was talking to a brick wall and went back to the party some you win some you lose but the most inportant thing is to talk rubbish all the time. Any apart from that the house is going to be a place i will never forget. As when we moved in thier were 30 people living thier 28 Irish and two non. The number from this point would only go up and reached a max of 35 people living in one house now think of fresher at uni time its by 10 and add a few drinks and the house was party central. We have been having loads of fun working, drinking and messing about. While we have been in brisbane and the football has started again we get to watch all the games in active so they start at 9pm on a saturday and finsh at 3.30am its great. The rugby world cup however is much harder to watch due to the fact that many of the games are on late at nite so much commitment is needed to get up to see some of the games and at the moment i think i may stay in bed as france may be a bit hard to watch. At one point many irish were talking of winning the world cup now we r just taking who else is going to win. So as a huge rugby fan pure deppesion has overcome hope. However being so far away at least i don't have to read all the papers.
Hope you are all keeping well and speak soon!!
Cheers
David
