We have had a busy couple of weeks sight seeing again as we have just about run out of cash and are coming home at the end of feb. Can't complain as we have had a 5 month holiday, we just didn't fancy working on farms for pittance in the blazing sun when we can earn more back home. We stayed in a very dodgy backpackers hostel in Bussleton which was probably the worst place we have stayed yet. We did have a laugh with some of the people staying but there was also a really strange bloke who insisted on talking complete nonsence to us and we couldn't get rid of him. The main (only) attraction in Bussleton is the Jetty (pier) which is apparently the longest jetty in the southern hemiphere so we had to walk all the way to the end (Gem got Sunburn) apart from that the beaches were perfect so it was worth the trip! After that we ventured down to Margaret River, which is a famous wine growing region so we of cause had to go on a tour of some of the local wineries, On the tour we learnt about how wine is made and it also included free tasting of lots of lovely wine. We chose the wine for dudes tour as we now consider ourselves dudes after living in Oz for 3 months and gaining a surf certificate!! We are now both experts in Wine (not really!). The hostel we stayed at was really nice so we spent the rest of our time chilling in the garden drinking wine and eating. We are now back in Perth and yesterday we caught the ferry across to Rottness island, which is small and peaceful and a nice place to spend Valentines day (ahh). The public are banned from taking their cars so we spent the day cycling in the sun which is the best way to get around but we now have very sore backsides!! We met the local animals - large, friendly and hopping rat looking creatures called Quokkas!! Tommorrow we are going on a tram ride around Perth city one stop will be the casino we will just for look - no money to gamble although it will be tempting! We are off to Tokyo on Tuesday which is going to be mad!
