We are finally here after all the planning!! New York is amazing and we have already seen most of the top sights.

The first impression of the hostel we have been staying at were not great, there was a burnt out car outside (see photo) and then while we were checking in a load of paramedics burst in and the receptionist didn't bat an eyelid!! We also had a little pet in our room - a mouse that came out at night and scared Gem.

We stayed there for 3 days and have now changed to a new hostel.

So far we have been to the Empire state building, Statue of Liberty and Ground Zero. We are staying right next to Central Park which is absolutely huge. We have also explored Soho and Greenwich Village and found some cool shops and bars.

Anyway must go as our time on the net is running out!!  We'll update again soon!
