We are now well into our trip towards brisbane. After a day trip to the Blue mountains where we got to see loads of wild Kangeroos and went on the steepest Railway in the world (up a mountain!) we stopped off in a really isolated place called Barrington, saw more Kangeroos, swam in a river and drank wine in a hot tub with only the stars for light. Ended up going for another dip in the river with some swedish people glad they convinced us to go in as the full moon lit up the river and it was stunning.
After that we spent 2 days learning to surf at a surf camp where all the instructors called you dude. Surfing was harder than it looks but we both managed to stand up on the board eventually. Next we had 3 nights in Byron Bay, on the first night everyone from the bus went to a really cheesy club called Cheeky Monkeys. There was a wet T-Shirt comp which a girl on our bus won, I won a trip to Nimbin by throwing a ball through a hole, Gem won a cheap jug of beer but she didn't do the wet t-shirt comp. After all the beer there was lots of dancing on tables, we then had a repeat the next night.
We are now in Nimbin, which is town that was set up as a hippy comune in the seventies. It is a bit colourful here and there is a Cannabis cafe! We are staying at a lovely place in the hills with a swimming pool and lots of hammocks to chill out in.
