Day 10:
It was the worst night sleep ever, kept being bitten by mosquito's and the waterfall was so noisy as it was only about 50 meters from our hut. Chang came in the hut and called everyone up for breakfast, we had tea, boiled egg and toast again. We then set off trekking again, up to another hut where a german couple joined our group as they were only trekking for 2 days, (that's what we should have done.) we walked for about an hour to what seemed the top of the jungle, we had a rest, then we had to go down the other side, as it had been raining and it was muddy hills, you can just imagine how slippery it was and as I was wearing little plimsoles I wasn't getting much grip. We finally made it down the bottom where there was a little village, we stayed there for about half an hour, had a drink and was watching one of the ladies making a scarf, we ending up getting one for nan. We then walked for about 5 minute through rice fields, then we had to cross the river on 4 bamboo sticks and a railing made out of bamboo that started about 3 feet in the air and in the middle went down to about 6 inches. Chang crossed easily, so did the 2 german girls, then it was my turn. I was going ok until I got towards the middle and because the railing was so low I was bending down and looked down at the water, as it was flowing really quick it spun me out and i thought that the bridge was swaying side to side, I lent over to my right, the next thing I know I was falling, I closed my eyes and somehow grabbed onto the bamboo, I was ok, safe. (never s*** myself so much in my life.) every one else was laughing, I crawled the rest of the way across, no way was I standing up on that thing again. Then Leanne went, she made it look easy, apart from the middle bit where she couldn't stop laughing. Then danielle's turn, after watching me she was s***ting her self, she stated crawling from the start, she got about 2 feet along the bamboo and was saying she couldn't do it, we managed to coach her half way and then Chang went and gave her a hand. Then we walked again ( surprise surprise ) only for about 10 minutes up a road and then we got picked up by our truck. We then went for some lunch, noodles and rice, (another nice meal) then it was time for river rafting. We got into our swimming gear and was walking down a hot muddy bank that felt like we were walking in dog s***, then got on our raft made up of bamboo and a man with a 12 foot stick to guid us down the river. It was smooth to start of with and it got rougher and rougher, just after starting there was a tree laying across the river about 2 foot in the air and we had to duck under it, was quite scary. We then went through some stronger current and deeper water, the whole of the blokes stick was in the water, that's how deep in was. We finally came to the end, where we went up got changed and got in the truck to go back to our guest house. It took about an hour to get back, when we got back, what seemed a s*** hole 3 days ago, seem like a 5 star hotel. We all got clean, spoke to people back home and then went for a nice meal. Went back to our guest house and had a good night sleep.
End of day 10.
