Day 2:
Still had 2 hours until we landed in Bangkok, I was in and out of sleep and an air hostess was walking up saying something about Bangkok and I didn't hear what she was saying, so just left it, it got to within half an hour of landing and I asked one of the air hostesses what they were taking around and it was some visa thing to get into Thailand, so we got them and started filling it out and one of the girls was saying that it asked for your visa number, so we all started to s*** our selves as we then thought we had to have a visa just to enter thailand, it later turns out you only have to have one if your in Thailand for more than 30 days as we thought. So we go and collect our bags from baggage collection, and we have to queue to get our passports stamped and hand in our visa slips, the lady asks us to put our Thai address down so Danielle puts down our hotel and shows me and Leanne where the address is and somehow we put down the airport address but all went though ok. We then found out where our bags were,so went to collect them. The closer we were getting to our one there were no bags on it, the Thai man who works in the airport had taken them off and put them on the floor for us, so we then got our bags, went though security and wasn't even checked just let straight through, we then went to find out where our transfer was getting us from, so we go through this hall bit and there are all this little Thai men holding bits of paper with people's names on and we saw one with Danielle x2 stuck to a railing. We thought that he had gone without us, we went over to an info desk and asked, they called someone over and he pulled leanne's bag and we followed him outside and he took us to another man, who then took us to his BIG White taxi, some toyota thing. He put our bags in and we sat in the taxi, the driver gave us a bottle of water each and was really nice. It took about 45 minutes to get to our hotel but was quite a nice journey as Bangkok is lit up well at night and looks really nice, we finally got to our hotel, booked in , went up to our rooms and all said to each other this isn't what backpacking is all about, (kings size bed, tv,walk-in wardrobe, bath, shower and a nice view from the 16th floor). We got wii-fi for an hour spoke to people back home and told them we got here ok, then went for some dinner in the hotel, went in the lift down to the 10th floor and it stopped at the 10th floor but the door didn't open and Danielle absolutely shat her pants, so we don't use that lift no more we use one of the other 3. We went in the the dinner hall and had a nice meal, and a glass of red wine, after that we just went up to our rooms and went to sleep.
End of day 2.
