Dan and Lu's Travels
Every weekend there is a kind of impromptu car show at The Pavillions, which is a retail park in Scottsdale. Chris wanted to show us all the big old American cars as well as some of the newer ones with crazy engines.
But first, we went for sushi.... Chris had been telling us about this restaurant and when he heard that neither of us had tried sushi before he decided to take us. He ordered a selection for us to try: dan thought some of it was good and I thought it was disgusting, but I don't like fish at all really so no wonder... It has the strangest texture, and it just feels wrong!
After the sushi we went to see the cars. There apparantly weren't as many as usual, but there were still quite a few big old gorgeous ones. We saw some fabulous Oldsmobiles and Cadillacs.
We then met Mike at Crown Bar, which is a very plush, and soooo expensive, place in Scottsdale, then moved onto Six, where we continued on with what we'd started with Laura, Matt and Nic in San Diego - the sequence photographs...Very stupid, and all the more hilarious when you've had a few cocktails. Anybody would think we'd just invented animation... I must have taken 60 photos...
Went then to the bowling alley, as it was Amy's birthday, but didn't bowl, then to the Devil House where Dan's 'extreme' nickname came back into play, and this time with hand actions! Everyone started doing 'British' accents. This was baffling to say the least, Austin Powers has a lot to answer for! The favourite words seemed to be 'the beeeoooooooooz' which, obviously, is 'the beatles'. They were all convinced that it sounded English!
