At the moment we are staying in a small town called Lowood, there is very little here except farms so we are getting a little bit of work in. Unfortunatly we are not picking anything nice it is onions!! This is the worst veg you can pick apparantly and so far i agree! I have never done manual work and it is really hard work! It also involves getting up at 4.30 am which is actually not as bad as you think it is going to be as the birds wake you at that time anyway!!
Our first day was last saturday it took us 8 hours to pick two bins between us the bins are so huge. When we got home and i opened the back door to the van there was the BIGGEST spider i have ever seen in the van just sat looking at me! I managed not to screem and we got it out the van and killed it but later when talking to the campsite manager he told us very mater of fact that it was probable a taranchaler but not to worry as it wouldn't kill you make you a bit ill but it wouldn't kill you! Made me feel a lot better i am sure!
The caravan park is an intresting mix of people there are some australians that live here perminatly there is also quite a few backpackers mainly japanise and chinese working in the fields like we are. Dan is also trying to get some farrying work and we have put notice on the board in town although all the numbers have gone we have not had anyone call yet. Except for a man who rang up for the cot we had advertised? He had obvously got mixed up somewhere there!! Don't think there will be any nice pictuers on here for a little while although we are hopping to go to a national park for the weekend depending on the work.
