We are finnally back in civilasation!! its nice to be in a town were the population of people is bigger than the population of sheep!!! After Alice springs we travelled up towared Tennent Creek and visisted the Devils Marbels these were not really what i expected they were much better i thought they were going to be maybe 20 rocks with some balanced on top of one another but there are loads of them and they are huge as you can see on the pictuers. They covered a space of about 200m at least and the high way just drives straight though them!
We spent that night at a road house that is about 100k from the nearest town but i was supprised by home many locals were in the pub that night not sure where they came from! From there we went across to Mont isa where they were having a heat wave it was so hot about 37 degrees and no wind at all it was so hot we just stayed by the pool in mount isa. The best thing we saw in mount isa was the frogs who made there home in the toilets! I got a bit of a suprise the first time i saw them just sat in the loo but you got used to it apparantly they have been there for 10 years and if you take them out there back within 20mins! They also seemed to enjoy it when you flused the toilet!!!
We arived in townsville on Monday but contined to go north we will see more of Townsville on our way back down. We went to a really nice National park and stayed near some really beutiful waterfalls where there was safe swimming - No Crocs! and fresh water turtles. I have since spoken to an information center about crocodiles and they have told me that crocodiles are turning up in places they have never been before so i will be sticking to swimming pools now!
We arvived in carins yesterday afternoon after calling in to see the boulders which is a really pritty fast flowwing river where the ledgend is an aboriginaly lady got washed away after running away to be with her lover after she had been promised to another man. they say her spirit is still there. heading up to the daintree tommorrow and cape tribulation lots of crocodiles there hope fully will have some pictuers of one(from a safe distance) next time we update the site!
