Happy Christmas and New year sorry its a bit late!! Hope you have all had a great time and its not to cold for you over there!! Well things have changed a bit from last time i updated the site. Unfortunatly after my first week on the boat there the passangers seemed to disapear and there wasn't enough work to make it worth while our staying there. So we disided to start heading down south and the plan was to get to sydney for new year (this changed to but i wil come back to that) this gave us 3 weeks to see what we wanted to on the way down.
Our fist stop was the Capricorn Caves near bunderburg these caves were formed by coral millions of years ago but now they are dry and they have hourly tours. The caves are actually owned by a familly which is unusual when the first setlers came over a dutch man found the caves but didn't tell anyone untill he owned the land while he was waiting for the perchase to be official he wasted no time in making the caves excesable for tours so he could earn money from the straight away! Very sneeky!!
We then went to Baraga and the mono repos turtle beach this was amazing we camped just at the edge of the beach. During the day you could use the beach as normal but at night from November to March the Turtles come in shore to lay eggs. You are able to watch this with a guide whcih we did. The turtles don't hear out of water so as long as the light is behind them they don't have a clue we were there. The turtles we huge there shell was around 1 meter! We got to see 2 turtles lay there eggs and the second laid her eggs to close to the sea so we had to move these further up the beach the eggs are just like ping pomg balls and if you press them they dint like that two.
From there we called at Noosa the surf is good here however after having the beach to ourselves practicaly noosa was packed and this put us of a bit so we just stayed the night. Liam was there so we went out for a few drinks but othere than that didn't see a lot of noosa.
Since then we have maily been staying in national parks except for a few days at North stradbrook island although it rained the whole time we were there. For Christmas we got to a National park called Hat Head when we arived there as about 6 other groups in the small camp ground and we got a nice spot and were even able to put the hamack up between two trees. We started off booking in till the day after boxing day but didn't leave till the 4th of January it was so nice we couldn't leave. Also it got busy after christmas and were told we would be lucky to get in anywhere else now. Christmas day was for us not very christmasy we had pasta and there weather was warm! But it was great a family came round and gave everyone cake and another bought wild flowers round and we drank home brewed rum with our neighbours! Unfortunaly not everyone was in the christmas spirt there was a polish man camped behind us who just didn't like the English he spent a week give us little digs he told dan to find a better girl friend and would spend ages moaning about what terrible people the english are. We didn't want any trouble so we just laughed it off and ignored him but after a week we had just had enough to cut a long story short i ended up telling him what i thought of him and dan punched him (he didn't hurt him just scared him a bit) he left the next day before anyone was up. The next day dan and i were like heros people kept coming up to us and saying how it should have happened sooner they were all glad to get rid of him!!
That brings us pritty much up to date we are not in Sydney as we found out Port Maquarie has a lot of horses and not many farriers so Dan is at work at the moment with a farrier and hopefully he will get quite a bit of work here. Port maquarie seams nice although we haven't seen much yet as only arrived last night. I will try and up date a bit more regularly than i have been and there will be lots of pictuers going on the sight over the weekend.
