We're on the flight back to good ol' Londontown after an awesome week. Last night we went to a traditional Swedish restaurant for our last dinner in Stockholm. Jac went with salmon but I went something different with a slab of elk. So that means I have tried reindeer, moose & elk on this trip and I can now officially add them to God's tasty animal list. Could definitely live on them if I converted to Scandinavianism. Today we were up reasonably early for us and went for a wander through the old town again. With only a few hours to kill we decided on a boat cruise that took us around the islands and out to the start of the archipelago. We got great views, as for once, it wasn't raining in Stockholm. Then back to collect our bags, take the bus to the airport and here we are now, in the air. So what did we think of Sweden? It was brilliant! Very cold, snowy & rainy but that's all part of the charm. Our trip up north will be something we will recall for the rest of our lives with fond memories. We didn't see the northern lights but that didn't matter with such a unique trip that we experienced. I mean c'mon, dog sledding in the wilds of Sweden, that's cool in anyone's book. Stockholm grew on us the more time we spent there. We started to see the beauty they rave about and we would love to explore more of the city but maybe in summer next time. And what of the Swedish folk? They are warm & friendly & love to share a joke. Definately some of the nicest Europeans we have encountered. So bye for now Viking country. You have been an experience. Our first trip out of the UK for a while, was definately worth it & we can't wait to go skiiing in the French Alps in another week. Viva La France!
