Well they banged their drums and played their flute late but that was all we heard of the commune. It was an experience but it really didn't affect us in any way. And let's face it, we don't want to stay in hotel chains all the way. But anyway we filled up on muesli and toast and headed the short distance into Lisbon. Once again it was a pain trying to get where we needed with all the one ways. But eventually it was sorted and we checked into our hostel with a small balcony with sea views. We dumped our packs then went for a stroll down to the sea side and a small picnic with bread we had borrowed from the hippies. As it was yet another sunny day we enjoyed the warmth and the air for a while before stopping in Europe's largest square for photos. Then it was on to the town centre where we again sat people watching for an hour or so. Jac is still not well so we headed back to our room so she could snooze away the afternoon. And that's pretty much all that happened. She slept and I watched a movie on my phone. About 8pm I went and got us hamburgers from a great little shop close by, then we watched National Lampoon's European Vacation before snooze time. We haven't seen a lot of Lisbon but we're not worried. It has none of the charm of Porto or beauty of Sintra. So tomorrow we will be on the move again. Early enough to beat the parking inspectors to our car.
