Nothing too exciting today although it feels like that has been the case for quite a while now. We headed off in search of a place to have our clothes washed after breakfast, but after walking about 5 k's around town in pretty hot conditions we gave up. We gave the clothes to the hotel , which we had been trying to avoid as they were a little expensive, & returned to our room. There isn't really anything here in town to see unless we headed out to rivers & lakes, but we have seen plenty of those in the last 4 months. As such we watched some movies in the room, broken up by heading out for lunch, & called the parents to catch up. As evening came we had dinner at our hotel & went for another wander through town, stopping down by the Mekong for a beer. During the day nobody is around, but at night the local people are everywhere. Kids riding bikes or sitting around in groups, adults gathering at the street stalls to catch up on news. Everyone smiles & waves as you walk past. I think I've said how much we love the friendliness of Laotians. I love walking around & just sharing a smile with them as you walk past. Nothing needs no be said between you, but it's so lovely just having that one small moment between you. We returned back to the hotel to prepare for tomorrow. We have another bus journey, this time down to Pakse. May as well just savor lying still on a flat bed because tomorrow we will no doubt be bounced all around the place.
