It was very hot today. When we left to get some lunch we were greeted by a 35 degs sticky day, although it felt more like a 40 degree day. We went to one of one of the cafes on the rivers edge to have a feed in the shade. It was too hot at this stage to see the sites so we returned to the a/c room & watched some AFL on TV. As the afternoon approached the cloud cover came & the rain hit. It cooled the air enough so we hired some bikes to ride around & explore the town. We were on pedal power for a few hours but it did get pretty tiring as a result of the humidity. We returned to the hotel early evening to refresh then headed for some street food at the night market. The prices there were about half the price of the restaurants. We had plates for a buffet which we loaded up on veggies & grabbed a couple of chickens on sticks. It was too much food so as a beggar passed us begged for some food, so we gave him a chicken. He was very thankful & probably the best fed bum that night. We were pretty full after this so couldn't have been bothered with walking the rest of the market. We loaded up cash as we're not sure of ATM's at our next destination, then returned to the room to pack & prepare for tomorrows bus journey. It's a shame to be leaving Luang Prabang. We keep seeing a lot of the people who are doing the same journey as us, always stopping to catch up. We should imagine it will be the same over the next few places we visit. It's just such a relaxing, beautiful town, a week here would have been just about perfect.
