Lets take this gig global!!
Right, first things first you'll be pleased to know that I've uploaded some of our Vietnam pics for your viewing pleasure!! If its been successful then they should be in the photo section....enjoy!
Anyways.....Well, what can say......what an amazing few days!! The bus trip from Phnom Penh was fine although we didnt manage to keep our spacious double seats as it filled up fast. One unexpected passenger next to us was......a duck! Yep, the poor little thing had its legs tied and was being chucked in the bottom with all the bags but a German couple took pity and brought it up to sit on their laps. It behaved all the way too apart from after a pit stop when it obviously didnt know how to ask to go the toilet so it shat all over the girls legs instead!! haha. She didnt seem too bothered tho surprisingly. I Dont think her other half thought the same tho! Fairplay to her I say.
The guy we met in Phnom, Paul was also on the bus and we met a Spanish girl too which was a good chance to impress with my Latino language skills!!
The most crazy part of the journey (if not the whole trip so far!!) was when we arrived. We were literally mobbed by Tuk tuk drivers (and I mean seriously mobbed, there must have been at least 50 of them!) All shouting and pushing and pullling and some even had our names on big placards (sold on by the old guesthouse!). It didnt bother me so much but others had less patience and it all got a bit sour when voices were raised and one girl lost it and was screaming at them to leave her alone!! Pretty Crazy stuff!
We got to the hotel safe enough tho and met back up in the upstairs restaurant to chill for a while. Digba (the Spanish girl) had slightly different plans (maybe my Spanish wasnt that impressive after all!) but me, Steve and Paul took a stroll to check out the local area and found some interesting bars, one the 'dead fish' even had a pool of crocs by the toilets.....not so sure what the Health and Safety boffins would have to say about that at home!
After a few beers and many games of pool later it was early nights alround as we were up at about 4:30am the next morning for the big one...the Angkor temples!!
I really dont know what to say about these phenomenal monuments so maybe I'll try to put them into word into my next update....
so for now... Hasta luego amigos!
(see I'm fluent!! haha)
